Are you interested in applying to our school?
We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child! These steps will walk you through the process.
Initial visits are scheduled during the school day. We prefer prospective families tour during the morning in order to see the uninterrupted morning work cycle, a hallmark of Montessori education. Your visit will start with a tour of the school, followed by an opportunity to ask further questions with our administrative staff.
After your tour, you will receive an enrollment application to be completed and submitted online along with the non-refundable $100 application fee. Please keep in mind that spaces do fill early!
If your application is accepted, our Head of School, Heidi Geiger, will connect you with your student's prospective teacher. She will contact you within 1-2 business days of the receipt of your completed application to schedule an interview for you and your child.
This is a key step in the admissions process, ensuring that the Montessori environment is a fit for your child and that your child is a fit for the specific classroom community.
Prospective parents will be notified within 1-2 business days after the interview about whether or not our school is the right fit.
Once your child is accepted to our school, we require that you send a 10% deposit in order to secure their enrollment. Payment must be received within two weeks of notice of acceptance, and will be applied toward your child’s tuition. Our Business Manager, Jennifer Rutherford, will follow-up with you directly regarding your deposit and setting up a tuition payment plan.
Tuition may be paid bi-annually (in August and January), in ten monthly installments beginning in July, or weekly beginning in August. Tuition may be paid in-full by August 1 for a $100 discount.
"JMS shows how all schools should be. The atmosphere when you walk in is relaxed and welcoming. The classrooms are custom to the age range of the children to make it feel like it’s their room. The staff is open and friendly answering any and all questions no matter who it is."
"The best thing about Montessori is building a love of learning. I’ve seen my daughter grow so much in her years at JMS and seeing her imagination and knowledge base grow. She often makes me stop in amazement of her critical thinking and understanding of complex issues even at a young age. JMS is definitely the place for a wonderful education. "
